- Originally a stop for the Ancaster Methodist circuit riders, then Waterdown Methodist, then Waterdown United, then St. James United. We strive to be a caring community, sharing faith.
Flamborough Heritage Society - "The History of St. James United Church - 180 Years"
Don Woods is back and will highlight the beginnings of Methodism in Waterdown, as the start of a special weekend of Anniversary events.
With the early religious community and a combination of events a very vital church emerged, which has continued to this day. The early Methodist church on Mill Street became St James United Church after union in 1925. They moved to the present location on Parkside Drive in 1957, though the sanctuary was not completed until 1961.
Don, through his expertise and humour will take us through the decades with the help of a few of the 'old-timers'.
